Located with a view overlooking Lake Gleneida, George's Place is the place to go if you are looking for a fast and delicious meal at a low price. The staff at George's is always always kind and attentive to customers making everyone feel as if they are part of the family. We take pride in our reputation as being rated one of the Top 10 Diners in the Hudson Valley.

The breakfast and lunch restaurant was opened and run by George Pourakis in 1978. There was a kitchen fire in 1985 and George managed to re-open the diner a year later. Sadly George passed away in 1998, leaving George's Place to his son Costas. 

Currently owned and managed by Costas and Karen Pourakis, George's Place is a family restaurant in the heart of Carmel, NY. The restaurant features indoor & outdoor seating overlooking Lake Gleneida. In April 2015, the restaurant received a re-modeling by the new Food Network show called American Diner Revival, featuring American television host Ty Pennington & Chef Amanda Freitag. George's Place is featured on Season 1 Episode 3 of American Diner Revival, the episode titled: Farm Fresh Fiasco!
